Dutch language courses are taught using the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference) for Languages. Dutch is divided into five levels of learning. The A1 and A2 levels address basic subjects, commonly used idioms, informal email writing, and day-to-day problems. At the end of the A2 level, a student can read and listen to short stories and fairy tales with ease. Intermediate levels B1 and B2 cover more sophisticated grammar structures, professional email writing, and concerns and themes that help express particular viewpoints.
